International Law Association Conference

This year the annual conference of the British Branch of the International Law Association (ILA) is to be hosted by the Law Department of Oxford Brookes University on 15–16 April 2010.

The theme for this year’s conference is compliance. The normative evolution, acceptance and development of international law continues, yet so too does the phenomenon of non-compliance. A number of papers will be presented by speakers from both academic and practitioner backgrounds on the practical and theoretical issues raised by questions of compliance understood broadly, across all areas of international law. The session themes include:

  • Norms
  • Human Rights
  • Judges
  • Business
  • Non-State Actors

Everyone with an interest in international law is welcome to attend the conference, whether for one day or both, whether a member of the ILA or not. For details on how to join the ILA (British Branch) visit their website.
